Four top comedians at Laughter Lounge

Every Saturday night the Laughter Lounge, Downstairs at Forum Waterford brings you not one, but four of the best comedians that this country has to offer and this weekend is no different. The laughter Lounge, as always, will be followed by late club VIVA, where Dj Paul will play the best of 90s and chart music.

John Colleary

John comes along with his usual style of ‘seeming to come up with things on the spot and each a little crazier than the last’. John also has some TV work to his credit, having appeared in the first series of Naked Camera, he also showed up in the comedy showcase One Night Stand on BBC2. Most recently John contributed to and starred in the exciting C4 Comedy Lab pilot Headwreckers. However it’s the world of radio where John has performed most consistently since 2006 by being one half of wacky cop duo (with fellow comic Bernard o Shea) TJ & TJ on The Last Word which aired on Today FM, neatly showcasing his talent for accents and impersonations which also form the basis of his live work.

Colm O Regan

Colm O’Regan has been in comedy for the last six years and in that time has progressed to being one of the top stars of Irish comedy. He has played all the festivals – Edinburgh, Kilkenny, and the prestigious invite only, Montreal Just for Laughs. He is also a regular at the Laughter Lounge in Dublin who describes him as having a “PhD in stand up comedy”. Colm’s TV and radio credits include the Paramount Comedy Channel (World Stands up), RTE 2’s Just for Laughs, The Lucy Kennedy Show as well as writing for and featuring on RTE Radio 1 and Newstalk.

Sharon Mannion

Sharon made her stand up debut at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs (Fringe) Festival 2005. Within a couple of months she was a finalist in the Bulmers International Festival- Best Newcomer competition. She has been gigging ever since and is now a regular support act at clubs all over the country. In February 07 she won the Toilet Duck-Best Stand up award at the Fr. Ted Festival. In July 07 she came third in the UK and Ireland Funny Women competition at the Comedy Store, London. Having begun her comedy career as an improviser, she still performs regularly with the Ha’penny Laugh Improv troupe. Most recently, she was co-founder of Ghost Train Willy, the newest sketch group to take the Irish comedy scene by storm. A rising star, Sharon is destined for big things and is definitely one to watch!

Andrew Stanley

Having performed worldwide at the Montreal, Adelaide, Melbourne and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals and becoming a regular fixture at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, Andrew Stanley is one of the top comics working the Irish Circuit today. Whether it’s performing as Resident MC in numerous clubs around the country or as a quality act in his own right Andrew is always high energy and quick witted enough to keep audiences thoroughly entertained.
