Jon Kenny is back in Waterford county this weekend and will be here for Tramore’s race week much to the great delight of his fans.
He told the Munster Express that he will be tackling how the Irish ran away with the boom and now back at reality we can have a laugh at ourselves for building too many spas and other excesses of the Celtic Tiger era..
He will be performing his brand new show In The Grand Hotel, Tramore this Saturday the 14th of August
Jon Kenny Live heralds a return for Jon to the type of work that gave him the reputation as one of the most talented comedians in Ireland. Formally one half of the hugely successful duo d’Unbelievables, Jon Kenny is a multi talented actor, stand-up comedian, musician and singer.
Jon uses the changing face of contemporary Ireland as the scaffold on which to build his hilarious observations and characters in this new show Jon Kenny Live. Running through such contrasting experiences as supporting Munster rugby to visiting a health spa, Kenny takes no prisoners and delights in emphasizing the humour in everyday life.
Kenny has performed his one man show “I’m not says I …. I’m fine!” the length and breadth of the country, gathering rave reviews along the way.
“I have made a conscious decision to pear everything back and create a show that will allow us all to look at where we are now and how we got here. I have returned to what I was doing a long time ago and the reaction is fantastic. I am starting back at base and creating lots of situations and characters that people will relate to and we can all have a good long laugh at ourselves”, said the comedian who is bringing this new show on tour throughout Ireland over the coming months.
“The show is really intimate and I am laying myself bare on the stage. There are no sets, no props, no costume changes it is just fun and laughter all the way!”Jon commented.
The Celtic Tiger is now a distant memory and the media is full of doom and gloom so an evening of hilarious comedy with the inimitable Jon Kenny is just what the doctor ordered.
