The Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT) will present a live performance by Dordán in the foyer of University Hospital Waterford (UHW) on Monday 19th December as part of its Healing Sounds programme.

Formed in 2014, Dordán is an all male voice choir consisting of twenty members from the city and county of Waterford. The choir’s musical director is 25 year old Damien Kehoe, a young director with a strong influence over the group.

The choir sing many numbers that would not readily be associated with a group of men of a “certain age”, but audiences are often surprised to hear U2 or Coldplay songs being given the Dordán treatment.

The choir can just as readily sing Latin Plain Chant pieces that are hundreds of old but which were the basis of church ceremonies for many years ending in 1963.

Recently the choir just finished a very successful trip to Northern France where performances at the American Military Museum and the Basilica of St Terese at Lisieux were among the highlights.

The Waterford Healing Arts Trust is delighted to welcome Dordán to University Hospital Waterford where they will perform for the benefit of patients, staff and visitors. The performance will begin at 1.30pm, all are welcome to attend and admission is free. Healing Sounds in the foyer is kindly supported by the Arts Council and AIB.
