Horror at The Cathedral!

FilmatCathedralhe 1932 version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is recognised as one of the greatest horror films of all time – and there is a rare opportunity to see it on Friday 30th July at 10pm, in the atmospheric setting of Christ Church Cathedral. Based on the ‘shilling shocker’ story by Robert Louis Stevenson, Dr. Henry Jekyll believes that there are two distinct sides to men – a good and an evil side. he believes that by separating the two, man can become liberated. He succeeds in his experiments with chemicals to accomplish this and transforms into Dr Hyde to commit horrendous crimes. When he discontinues use of the drug it is already too late…and there are terrifying consequences. Fredric March won an Oscar for Best Actor in this classic film which combines gothic horror, aristocratic romance and madcap Freudian psychodrama into a dizzying, exhilarating brew.
