Be sure to pop down to Garter Lane Arts Centre soon for a double exhibition experience.

Evoke – Things I do be thinking is an exhibition of selected pieces from the Waterford Municipal Art Collection curated by the Waterford Young Arts Critics which will officially open on Saturday, 21st June at 5pm with special guest speaker Ben Hennessy and lots of free family fun to follow. The inspiration for this body of work comes from the memories evoked in us by art.

The afternoon promises to be a super one with a FREE ‘Toon It’ workshop led by Laura Gramzow at 4pm. Participants will be introduced to a few old school animation techniques including flip books, thaumatrope and cells that can be mixed up and updated through the use of digital cameras and smartphones. No worries, if you don’t have your camera/phone on the day, that’s where the ‘old school’ comes in handy! Admission is free, with light refreshments served.

Also opening in the FOH Space supported by AIB Waterford is Briar Patch Born and Bred by Laura Gramzow. The artist’s work presents various elements; images, words, colours and objects in a pictorial way.

Both exhibitions are open daily Tuesday- Saturday, 11am-5.30pm.
