Menopause The Musical, featuring X-Factor star Mary Byrne and directed by Waterford’s own Richie Hayes, comes to the Theatre Royal from 17th to 21st November.

The toe-tapping, sing-a-long sensation, which also stars Linda Nolan, Sue Collins and Niamh Kavanagh, is set in a department store and is about four very different ladies meeting by chance at a lingerie sale. Packed with hot flushes and hot tunes, it has warmth, wit and wonderful women… as they really are.

Linda Nolan – who enjoyed international success with family singing group, The Nolans – is thrilled to have been cast in the show. “Even before I got the opportunity to work on Menopause – The Musical I’d heard about it from friends and family,” she said. “They were all raving about it.”

Eurovision Song Contest winner Niamh, who is the mother of teenage boys, says her sons will definitely find Menopause – The Musical entertaining and enlightening. She said: “They’re going through puberty at the moment. And I tell them that so am I. “Only I happen to be going through it backwards.”

Comedy performer and singer, Sue Collins, who has developed a varied solo career as well as starring with The Nualas singing group – says the show plays to all her strengths. “There are great big musical numbers that we can all get our teeth into,” she said. “It’s going to be so much fun. Both for the gang on the stage and everybody in the audience.”
