Male voice ensemble ‘Concordia’ and period instrument group ‘Morisca Consort’ come together to present a programme of music from the Medieval and Renaissance eras, all in the ambience of the newly restored Medieval Undercroft at Cathedral Square, Waterford. Taking place this Sunday 10th October, at 7pm audiences will be treated to the music of these golden ages in one of Waterford’s most character full settings.

‘Concordia’ is a new and exciting male vocal ensemble comprising of Waterford based quartet Ruairi de Fréin, Dermot Doyle, Brendan Long and Niall Crowley. This is their third performance since founding early this year and follows a sell out performance in Kilkenny during the Summer.

Period instrument group ‘Morisca Consort’ are made up of internationally renowned players Laoise O’Brien, Sarah Grosser, and Andrew Robinson. Along with the venue they further offer a sense of stepping back in time, playing instruments such as the Viola de Gamba, Viol and Recorder.

The venue is a charming and intriguing one. Located just off Cathedral Square the building, dating from the 11th and 13th centuries, has been lovingly restored by the City Council and recently opened to the public. Set just under ground level the venue provides a spectacular backdrop for the evening’s entertainment.
