Albert Lee & Hogan’s Heroes return

Fans of live guitar music are in for a real treat when Grammy Award winning guitar legend, Albert Lee makes a welcome return to Forum Waterford on Wednesday, 20th May where Lee and the superb band, Hogan’s Heroes will play a selection of classics plus preview tracks from their new studio album entitled: “Like This”.

Albert Lee’s contribution to the world of popular music – incorporating many different genres – is truly immeasurable. The musicians, singers and bands which Lee has recorded/toured with include some of the most celebrated names in the industry including: Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Jeff Lynn, Glen Campbell, Jackson Browne, Dolly Parton, Joan Armatrading, Cliff Richard, Joe Coker, Emmylou Harris, Linda Rondstadt, The Everly Brothers, Willie Nelson and many, many more. Albert is also co-vocalist, lead guitarist with Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings. Amongst the many accolades bestowed on Albert Lee are: A Grammy Award in 2002 and 2009, A Gold Badge Award from B.A.S.C.A. (The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors), A Lifetime Achievement Award from B.C.M.A. (British Country Music Association) and, he’s been voted “Worlds Best Guitar Picker” an incredible five times by readers of Guitar Player Magazine.

As you would expect, Hogan’s Heroes, Lee’s touring band, features four of the music industries’ top session players whose CVs read like a who’s who of pop, rock and country music. Between them they have worked with: George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Alison Moyet, B.B. King, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Wet, Wet,Wet, Pulp, The Beautiful South, The Proclaimers, Kenny Rodgers, Paul Young, and Will Young, to name but a few!
