Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Déjà Vu for Garter Lane

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young will play at Garter Lane Cinema on Sunday 25th January at 7pm – a must for all music lovers in CSNY Déjà Vu (15A). The war in Iraq is the background as CSNY Freedom of Speech Tour criss-crosses North America and a Vietnam veteran sums it all up ‘It’s déjà vu all over again”.

The programme continues until Sunday 5th April with some superb titles, including two double bills, and if you pre-book your tickets before Saturday at 5pm, you can avail of the Early Bird Ticket for only €7.50, saving €1.50 per ticket – now that’s a recession buster, especially as you get a complimentary tea or coffee thrown in – book your tickets now on 051-855038 or www.garterlane.ie No booking fee applies.

Two years ago, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young went on the road with their Freedom of Speech concert tour, which they timed to coincide with the mid-term American elections. CSNY were icons of the peace and love era in the late 1960s, and were at the forefront of performers opposed to the war in Vietnam. Reunited to address another war in 2006, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young were determined not to leave their audience with “warm, fuzzy feelings”.

Neil Young’s fascinating documentary of that tour pulls no punches in recording just how divisive the audience response was when they played Atlanta. There was nothing warm or fuzzy about the feedback when they launched into Let’s Impeach the President with the lyrics displayed on a huge screen behind them, just in case anyone might miss the point.

The rest of the season includes Elegy on Sunday 1st February, Hunger on Sunday 8th February, I Served the King of England on Sunday 15th February, Of Time and the City & Saviours (double bill) on Sunday 1st March, Conversations with my Gardener on Sunday 8th March, 32A & Kisses (double bill) on Sunday 15th March, Let’s Talk about the Rain on Sunday 22nd March, The Lemon Tree on Sunday 29th March and Summer on Sunday 5th April, all of which can be pre-booked on line at www.garterlane.ie or 051-855038 – No booking fee applies.
