Disconauts this Saturday @ Rubys Room 2

Yes its birthday time at Get Down and what better way to celebrate than having Waterfords favourites Disconauts. Plus coming in June we have the return of John Daly to room 2.

Get Down celebrate one year in business on Saturday 22nd of May. Over the year Daz and Martin have brought Chez Damier, The Disconaut Dj’s, The Revenge, John Daley and who could forget that night back in October of last year with a certain Mr Greg Wilson.

To celebrate, we welcome back Galway’s finest in the Disconaut Dj’s. The Disconauts are DJs Keith O’Hanlon, Padraic O’Connor, and drummer and percussionist Mark Logan. The Disconauts fuse skillful mixing of deep & soulful house with live bongos, congas and timbales.

The Galway trio has been running club nights in Galway for the past fifteen years in venues including the Castle, The GPO and Bar 903, as well as bar residencies nationally in Dublin, Limerick and Belfast, and are regulars at Oxygen and The Electric Picnic.

The Disconauts take superb house tunes, expertly mixed, and add dynamic new melodies, phrases, and rhythms. They never rehearse or pre-programme what will be played in order to achieve true improvisation with combustible results.

A hugely exciting club act, The Disconauts are at the forefront of clubbing with their cutting-edge house, dirty disco and dubby techno.

For the last two years, The Disconauts have been running a twice-monthly Saturday night Club from their current home of Deeper (The Cellar Underground, Eglinton St.)

They have brought in national and international acts such as Mark E (Jisco Music), Charles Webster (Miso, Furry Phreaks), John Daly (Feel, Wave, Drumpoet Community), FishgoDeep (Go Deep, Defected), The Unabombers (Elektrons, Electric Chair), and Max Essa (Bear Funk) to name but a few.

Staying true to the sound of the underground, the boys live by the ethos: “A basement, a red light and a feeling!”

Support on the night comes from Daz and Martin along with Cork’s own Duggie (Roundy Rythmns)

Doors 10.30pm with entry € 10 – Free mix Cd for first 100 through the door.
