Dorothy Murphy gig
Dorothy Murphy & Circleways will perform at the Coast Guard Station,Tramore on Saturday 22nd November at 8pm.
Both as an improvising musician and original composer, Dorothy Murphy has been at the vanguard of vocal jazz in Ireland for some years, and her adventurous new band Circleways marks a return to The Pendulum in anticipation of her forthcoming album Calling.
With musicians drawn from classical & jazz spheres, Murphy has assembled a diverse group of nonetheless like-minded individuals to perform graceful and engaging compositions by herself and collaborator Seán Óg, who joins her on sopran saxophone and bass clarinet, plus the occasional intervention on tape, along with cellist Claire Fitch, bassist Cormac O’Brien and drummer Phil MacMullan.
