Kat Cross & Talkative

Katcross_Talkative-ColourIn late February, French band ‘Kat Cross & Talkative’ will pay a visit to Waterford’s ‘Electric Avenue’, as part of a week long Irish tour. The band is comprised of 3 French musicians and one rambling Waterford guitarist called Trevor O’Neill. Trevor played bass for the better part of the 1990’s with local band, then known as ‘Kennel Gods’. He has been living in France since 2001 and is making a proud return to his hometown with this original and accessible band.

Kat Cross is key composer to the project. Her musical diversity brought her to the attention of platinum selling ‘Tricky’, who upon discovering Kat, selected one of her songs ‘Symphony for Irony’ for his ‘Back to Mine’ compilation where Kat was featured alongside music icons : Kate Bush, Gregory Isaac, The Cure, Dr. John and Chet Baker.

With a critically acclaimed first album ‘Work In Progress’ under her belt (distributed by Believe Digital), her second album ‘Déjà Vu’ is set for release this month. As the album neared completion, it pre-empted the need for a band to bring the music out on the road. The concert will also include an experimental visual show called ‘La trajectoire des immobiles’, orchestrated by Natasha Kail, a French Visual Performance Artist.

Catch ‘Kat Cross & Talkative’ at Electric Avenue on Saturday February 27th. They will be accompanied by a much-talked about national act called ‘Size Two Shoes’ and the evening will be completed by the Steely Dan tribute band.
