RePublik and ReTech at The Loft
RePublik’s Loft Sessions is back this weekend with two nights of Deep House grooves & funky minimal techno. Saturday night will see all kinds of deep lined up, the funky soulful sound of resident Daz will be complimented by the deep and minimalistic grooves of fellow RePublikan Paul Mac and support on the night comes from one thier favorite up and coming local djs Chris Fitz.
Chris over the past 12 months has gotten himself many gigs in Waterford and it doesn’t stop there he is also now part of the very popular MyHouse-YourHouse web radio station. Which he holds a bi-weekly Saturday residency. This will be a proper night of soulful underground house beats so make sure you join them this Saturday 22nd November at The Loft, Electric Avenue. Doors 11pm Admission €10.
Just to remind you that in December on St Stephens night RePublik will be throwing a 3 rooms session featuring all the RePublik & Retech DJs Plus Fish Go Deep & The Littlemen full details available on their website Www.republikmusic.net
Also this weekend on Friday 21st November ReTech is back at Electric Avenues Loft with residents Joe Gould & Alan Harris, plus support on the evening comes from a new up and coming techno dj from Waterford city, Chris Grace. Chris has only started DJ in in the last few years and in 2008 has seen him step up his game and it has gotten him some sets around Waterfords club scene which include Electric Circus. The main event of the evening and making his ReTech debut is one of Wexfords finest Dance DJs Nordine Chigara.(pictured)
Nordine started DJ’ing back in the mid 90’s. In 1998 he was Waterford I.T.’s entry in the Irish Inter College DJ Competition and about a year later he played at the seminal Clubspace in Camolin, Wexford. In 1999 he went on to become a resident DJ at Clubspace until its closure in 2003.
He currently holds 3 residencies, Viva (Rosslare) The Music Factory (Wexford) and Revolution (Ireland). In the past Nord has had the privilege off playing at some the big clubs across the country and beyond, places like South (Tramore, Waterford) and Ten (Waterford), Fabric (Kerry), Ecco (Carlow), Cool House (Cardiff) and The Music Factory (Wexford, Carlow).
His diversity in styles and tastes in music can be heard in his sets as they tend to cross the lines between House and Techno and can range from funky/jackin to deep/hard and he has the knack of providing the good whatever the ocassion and hes resume of support sets proove it,Billy Nasty, Phil Kieran , Green Velvet and Fish Go Deep, are just some of the acts that Nordine has supported.
ReTech are really looking forward to having Nordine come and kick it at The Loft with them on Friday 21st of November and they are sure you will to. Doors open 11pm. Admisson 10euro.
