Rockabilly hits Tramore
On Friday 21st Aug Rockabilly outfit Tv Jones & the Tomohawkes take to the stage at the Seahorse Tavern in Tramore. The band formed in 2008 from the ashes of the Migrant Hawkers; Dermot ‘Noxy’ Noonan (double bass), and Pius Meagher (drums and attitude problem) set about creating their dream rockabilly combo, and in Tony Doherty (guitar) and Jimmy ‘Rockin’ Daddy’ Conroy, they found their ideal accomplices. The band play a roaring hot mixture of classic and modern rockabilly tunes, mixed with some rockin’ originals. Their gigs so far have been sweaty, hopping affairs, even attracting a renegade bunch of hardcore rockabilly dancers who dazzled the audience at the band’s last show with their acrobatic jumping, jiving and somersaulting.
Then on Saturday night it’s the turn of Waterford band Lewboski, A band whose eclectic mix of musical styles is renowned throughout the South East, Lebowski play a truly unique set. Taking advantage of their original line-up featuring a harmonised medley of modern instruments and classical flute, Lebowski play a myriad of music from traditional to ska to 60’s rock. With hits from Buffalo Spirngfield to Horselips and from The Specials to The Waterboys, you can be assured this is a show not to be missed.
