Stone Roses Experience to open Oxygen Festival

The Stone Roses Experience have just been handed the honour of opening Oxygen 2008 on 10th July. MCD are erecting a special 10,000 capacity marquee for this gig to provide weekend campers with the perfect live lift-off to this year’s festival on the Thursday night. The Stone Roses Experience are of course veterans of both Witness and Oxygen, having played 4 times previously and always to a rapturous response. But before all this the lads make a return visit to Electric Avenue on Friday 27th June, having provided one of the gig highlights of 2007 at the John Street venue.

Support comes from new original Irish band The Doldrums and indie singer-songwriter Rob Smith whose single ‘Stand Up’ was a recent Number 1 in the charts. Tickets at €10 are on sale now at BPM Records and Ticketmaster.

The Stone Roses Experience are regarded as the most precise and inspiring Stone Roses tribute band on the live music circuit and performing to sell-out crowds is something these four lads from Scotland are no stranger to. The lads have also had the amazing compliment and services of none other than original Stone Roses bass maestro Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, who on three occasions has played Roses classic ‘She Bangs The Drums’ alongside the band to ecstatic Irish audiences.

The songs selected for their 2 hour live show span everything from the early Roses classics like Sally Cinnamon, through Waterfall and the acid funk of Fools Gold and Resurrection to the latter period of Second Coming with Love Spreads and Ten Storey Love Song. Another noted feature of The Stone Roses Experience is that they use the same instruments as the original Stone Roses for that authentic live sound.

The atmosphere that is created at their gigs is the closest you will ever get to the sights and sounds of an original Stone Roses gig.
