The Laoise O’Hanlon quintet

Irelands newest young emerging talent, jazz vocalist Laoise O’Hanlon, through both natural instinct and training in both London and Ireland (recipient of both London College of Music Degree 2007 and Cork School of Music Masters Degree 2010 top overall performer awards), has grown into one of the most accomplished and dynamic singers on the Irish jazz scene. Her voice is a flexible, facile instrument wielded by an ambitious and visionary player. It can be sweet or melancholy, polished or raw, wide in range and broad in stylistic scope, channelling and combining her influences, diverse as Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, Al Jerreau, Diane Schuur, Cassandra Wilson, Liane Carroll, Mark Murphy, Bobby Mc Ferrin, Miles Davis and Jill Scott to name but a few.
