Waterford Gypsy Jazz Ensemble formed in June of 2010, playing a range of music in the style of Gypsy Jazz. Comprising of music students, past and present, from Waterford Institute of Technology, the band perform music from a by-gone era with a modern twist.

This Thursday, the Waterford Gypsy Jazz Ensemble play a free gig at the Theatre Royal to mark the launch of their new ep, ‘Debut Swing’. We spoke to the band’s double bass player, Kieran Fitzgerald:

“The band was originally a little side project of Dylan Bible’s, basically he wanted to set it up and then let it off. The band wouldn’t have happened without Dylan, to be honest.
