Traffik Live with The Pale

On Saturday night February 7th at Forum Waterford, Traffik Live will be welcoming the ever eclectic ‘Pale’. The Pale formed in Dublin in 1990 with Matthew Devereux on vocals Shane Wearen on Mandolins Sean Molloy on Bass and a cheap as chips drum machine taking care of the beats.

Band of the moment in the early 1990’s, The Pale’s hits ‘Dogs With No Tails’, ‘Butterfly’ and ‘Shut Up Venus’ built them a devoted following who continue to flock to their live shows. They’ve spent the past couple of years touring (they’re huge in Turkey, apparently) and recording:

‘The Contents of a Shipwreck’, released in 2007, was warmly welcomed by music critics. The Pale are to release a new album entitled “Proper Order” in late April 2009 on 1969 Records. Having already released a free single download called “Chocolate Factory” from the album last year, a new single called “You Play Indie Music” is set to be released in March.

It’s nigh impossible to pigeon-hole The Pale. Call it Balkanesque, reggae, ska, bluegrass, world music or pop, but their uniquely quirky sound remains as contagious as ever and their live gigs are fun, fun, fun.

Doors for Traffik open at 11.30pm every Saturday night and admission is €10.
