Vienna Mozart Trio for City Hall
The next recital of the current Waterford Music season sees the welcome return of the hugely accomplished Vienna Mozart Trio.
In the 18 years of its existence the Vienna Mozart Trio has performed in all the major concert halls of Europe and Asia and is one of a small group of ensembles known in virtually all the important music centres. It’s members are not bound by any contracts with orchestras or other ensembles. Their artistic independence enables them to achieve a musically free and unconventional interpretation of utmost intensity. The musicians consider it as their vocation to convey music as a spontaneous and original experience. They are not three soloists who thrust themselves into the limelight, but a harmonized and flexible ensemble which enjoys making music together. The trio’s repertoire comprises practically all the works for piano trio and they have developed a large international following for their distinctive style of playing.
“It is easy to appreciate the sophisticated playing of this fine ensemble, with their meaningful phrasing and expressive control of rhythmic inflection.” Daily Telegraph.
The programme comprises Haydn’s Piano Trio No 40 in F sharp minor Hb. XV26, Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio in G minor Op.17 and Brahms Piano Trio in C Op.87.
Entrance is via the Theatre Royal, come early and also enjoy the Municipal Art Collection now on display in the public area.
Thursday 4th February 8.00 pm. Venue: Large Room, City Hall, Waterford. Admission €15.00, Students €5.00. Tickets available at the door.
