Paddy designs ‘Shirley Valentine’
Well known local Photographer and Set Designer Paddy Dwan (picture opposite) joins the Production Team of Gary Power Productions for the up and coming exciting Production of the very funny play by Willy Russell “Shirley Valentine” Starring Lynda Gough.
Paddy has recently made an appearance on Nationwide , RTE in conjunction with Mark Roper on their up and coming new book “From The River To The Sea” , a book portraying all that is beautiful in nature from our local waters. One wonders how Paddy finds the time to set aside his love of nature and turn his hand to designing sets.
Paddy of course is a very esteemed Photographer and has held numerous exhibitions of his own beautiful work, with examples of his capturing pieces to be found hanging in many fine establishments. His love of Set Designing comes again from his many years of voluntary work with Waterford Youth Arts who are this year celebrating 25 years of establishment. In most recent times many people will remember Paddy’s work on “Sandbox” and “Prisoners Of Silence”.
He was thrilled when Gary Power asked him to design “Shirley Valentine” as when he researched the play he found it to be so funny and moving that it is a pleasure to design and of course with a superb Lighting Design from John Grubb and with an Actress such as Lynda Gough this is an evening of Theatre you wont want to miss.
“Shirley Valentine” runs Valentines Week February 9th-13th at Garter lane Theatre. Opening night offer all seats €10.00 and rest of week €18.00. So hurry and book now!!!!!! at Garter Lane box Office @ (051) 855038 0r online at garterlane.ie or you can book through www.garypowerproductions.com.
