Double St. Patrick’s Day festivities

Paddy Dwan (Carpenter), Anna O’Neill (Volunteer) and Lewis Quinn (Artist) working on the Birthday Cake for WYA and Bausch and Lomb’s entry in Waterford's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Cork Art student and past member of Waterford Youth Arts, local man Louis Quinn is currently working on the most amazing WYA 25th Birthday themed float. He specializes in graffiti art and as this is his first year contributing to the festival you can be sure to see something you’ve never seen before. With talented choreographer, Trish Murphy of WYDmoves, this St. Patrick’s Day Parade has gotten a whole lot more interesting.
Imagine Alice in Wonderland teamed with a brilliant birthday twist, now imagine all of the Youth Arts members coming together to create and to celebrate WYA’s 25th birthday for the St. Patrick’s Day parade! Alongside the WYA Birthday they are sponsored this year by Bausch and Lomb who are 30 years in Waterford – so it’s a double birthday for all concerned. That’s double the festivities.
Creativity is the inspiration of this festival and the bigger the show the better. As birthdays are the main theme for WYA this year, they have put their thinking caps on and created some interesting presents that any child would love to get or adults will be delighted to remember. So make a date for the Quay, Waterford on March 17th and with all the local groups and individuals give them a good cheer as they go by.
