Jim Nolan directs controversial occult play
Waterford Youth Arts, in association with Garter Lane Art Center, present Dark of the Moon, a highly controversial and an original occult based play, directed by Jim Nolan and designed by Deirdre Dwyer.
Dark of the Moon is set in the Appalachian Mountains of North America, it’s about a witch boy and his love for a human girl, but the only way for him to be with her is if he is turned human by the conjure woman. He is given a year with Barbara Allen, but the conjure woman will turn him back into a witch boy if his wife is unfaithful before the year is up. Surprising twists and the controversial inferred violence of this play keeps the audience moved and captivated. The overall dark atmospheric theme of the set is joined by live musical performers to add to the ambience on stage. With certain scenes not suitable for young children, this play is deemed 12 PG.
