WAMA hosts Mamma’s Boy

Waterford Academy of Music and the Arts will host legendary world renowned guitarist Pat MacManus in its Live Room Theatre this February as part of his current tour.

Many of you older rockers will remember Pat for his work with world famous band ‘Mama’s Boys’, with hits such as “Needle In The Groove” and “Mama We’re All Crazee Now”. Pat has also toured with some of the greats in the music industry, such as Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Bon Jovi, Hawkwind, Wishbone Ash, Rush, Gary Moore, Sheryl Crow, Deacon Blue, and Jimmy Nail. He has also worked as a session man for artists which included a very wide range of acts such as John Parr, Tricky and Samantha Fox. (Pat is responsible for the guitar work on her hit single ‘Touch Me’).

In 2007 Pat released his first solo album and since then Pat has released 4 albums. His latest is called ‘Dark Emerald Highway’. Pat McManus Band tour constantly through Europe, selling out shows wherever they play.

If being a guitar genius wasn’t enough, Pat is also quite the fiddle and bouzouki player.

This alcohol-free gig takes place on 21st February and will be suitable for ages 8+. Early booking is advisable
