Car-Parking in Waterford for Winterval Festival

winterThousands free parking spaces will be made available in Waterford City for the duration of the Winterval Festival at three different access points to the city. Free spaces are available from they weekend (Friday, December 6th) at WIT College Street Campus, De La Salle College on the Dunmore Road and for traffic from the Wexford & Dublin roads The North Quays will be open for free daily parking.

On Sunday’s parking on street and within the Waterford City Council car-parks is free of charge. From Monday to Saturday, within the city centre Miller’s Marsh Car-park is at a rate of €1 per hour or a daily rate of €3.60 per day. Bolton Street Car-Park is at a rate of €1 per hour with a maximum of a two hour stay.

From December 11th Waterford City Council are rolling our a discounted parking rate for on street parking on city centre periphery streets; parking on these streets is reduced to 1.40 per hour.

Commenting on the ease of access to the festivities Chairperson of Winterval Barry Monaghan said, “We have organised three free car-parks at the different entry points, North, South and West and East of the City. We would ask visitors to the festival to use these car parks when entering the city and to avoid parking in any undesignated areas as the Winterval Horse Drawn Sleigh and Winterval Train require clear access to navigate their routes.”
