Members of the ‘24/7 Cardiac Care for the South-East’ group reiterated their concerns over the weekend. “With a weather warning in place from Met Eireann, tonight a cardiac patient has had to make the long journey to Cork University Hospital for treatment,” members said in a Facebook post on Friday evening. “Yesterday, another cardiac patient had to make the same journey. With a population of over half a million here in the South East, it is a national scandal the way cardiac patients are treated.”
