‘South East Silicon Valley’ mooted for Crystal site

Over 420 jobs could be created should an informal approach by a Cambridge University to WIT regarding a new international campus located on the Waterford Crystal site on the Cork Road be acted upon.

The Munster Express has learned from a source “close to the decision making process” that Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge has proposed such a development with WIT, believed to be worth over €300 million.

The source added that negotiations are still being conducted by agents and receivers of the respective institutions and locations.
