The new Inclusion Play Park proved very popular at the weekend following its official opening on Saturday last on what was a wet morning, children were not deterred from using it.

On the Sunday it proved most popular.
Many local councillors attended on what was their first official engagement of the year. Waterford Metropolitan Mayor Lola O Sullivan cut the ribbon and the well attended gathering inspected the eco friendly Play park, where special facilities for the disabled ensured substantial funding.

The total cost of the play park we are told was 243,000, euro with 48,000 euro coming from the local authority. There was also substantial local fundraising at local businesses and people contributing, but the bulk of the money came via Leader and EU funds.

Lola praised the local involvement, the support of Tramore Tourism and Chamber of Commerce, Tramore Tidy Towns and all the fundraisers.
Keith Daniels of Tramore Tourism and committee in charge of the project thanked Minister of State, Paudie Coffey for assisting in pushing the project, when at times it Looked difficult to see whether it would go ahead.
