The Ballybeg Positive project is now taking names for the following courses.

Sympathy

Deepest sympathy to Paddy and Nan O’Reilly, Halting Site Kilbarry, on the sudden death of their son Edward “Ned” O’ Reilly who died recently, aged 19 years. His remains were removed from Waterford Regional Hospital to St Saviour’s Church where they were received by Fr Richard Walsh OP. Burial took place following concelebrated mass, celebrated by Fr Fergal MacEoínín OP PP and Fr Art OFM to Cashel Cemetery.

Happy Birthday

A very happy birthday is wished to Megan Sheridan, Clonard Park who celebrated her 3rd birthday on Sunday August 24th with a party for all her family and friends at Trabolgan Holiday Centre, Co Cork, where they are holidaying at the moment.

New baby

Congratulations to Mary and David Burke, Mooncoin on the birth of a baby boy born in Waterford Regional Hospital recently. The baby is another grandchild for Dano Burke, Ballybeg Park.

40th Birthday

Congratulations to Mark Corcoran, popular member and juvenile trainer with St Saviour’s GAA Club, who will celebrate his 40th birthday on Sunday August 31st. Great celebrations will be held in the Wander Inn. Best wishes come to Mark from his dad Denny and all his family, his many friends especially all in St Saviours GAA Club and including his hairdresser Fiona.

Brown’s Road Library News

As part of Heritage Week running from 24th August until 31st August, Brown’s Road Library is running classes on Using the Internet to find Local History Resources.

If you are interested in local history or would like to find out how to research your family tree then this class will provide you with the skills you will need. Participants do not need to know anything about researching local history but a basic of knowledge of how to search the internet will be needed. The classes will be on Wednesday 27th and Friday 29th and they must be booked in advance. Bookings can be made at Brown’s Road Library, by telephone on 051 849845 or by e-mail at scummins@waterfordcity.ie.

Deepest Sympathy to Stella Curtin and the Curtin family, Bill, Jim, Austin, Vincent and Margaret and Pattie on the death of a much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother James “Jim” Curtin, Cork Road who died in Waterford Regional Hospital last week. His remains were removed to St John’s church on Thursday ,August 20th where they were received by Fr Jerry Chessnutt. Burial took place on Friday August 21st following requiem Concelebrated by Fr Jerry Chessnutt, Fr Conor Kelly and Fr Guardian OFM to St Mary’s Cemetery Ballygunner.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues in St Saviour’s Church every Tuesday, 10am to 11am, Thursday’s 7-30pm to 8-30pm and Fridays 7pn to 8pm. All are welcome. Come watch one hour with Me.

Congratulations to Aoife Quinlan, Knockhouse, Gracedieu who celebrated her birthday on Saturday August 16th. Birthday wishes come to her from her mam and dad Joan and Micheal, her granny Maura Power, Ashe Road, Kingsmeadow and all her family.

Ballybeg Community Development Project

Ballybeg Community Development Project is based in the Parish Centre, Ballybeg Drive. The project provides a resource to the Ballybeg community in terms of responding to people’s needs. The Project runs a number of training programmes for groups and individuals within the community and also supports local groups such as the woman’s group and the Ballybeg Action Group.

The project are holding a fun day in the New Park, Ballybeg on Sunday September 14th to provide both a day of fun activities for children and young people in the community as well as focusing on the development of the park and the children’s play needs in relation to the park. The day will consist of activities and games involving families from throughout the estate. There will also be music on the day.
