The average Waterford adult spends a total of €1800 on alcohol (€150 a month/€4.95 a day), while only Counties Louth and Dublin have a higher level of weekly alcohol intake than the Crystal County.

These findings were revealed in a new survey by Aviva Health Insurance to coincide with Alcohol Awareness Month, which draws to a close this week.

This extensive survey involved over 20,000 members of the public who completed the insurance company’s Online Health Check between January 2008 and April 2011.
