Waterford city’s population is far older than the national average, with its over-65s accounting for 17.7 per cent, compared with 11.2 per cent countrywide.
Those statistics were presented to the City Council at its May meeting, in the course of a presentation by Debra O’Neill, who represented the Ageing Well Network.
