Cllr Cha’s new rail service to Dublin

The decision taken by Iarnród Eireann to launch a new express service between Waterford and Dublin has been welcomed by Councillor Cha O’Neill who has been lobbying for such a service for some time.

“As a board member of Iarnrod Eireann, this is something I have been actively seeking on behalf of the people of Waterford city and surrounds since my appointment two years ago. The new service will leave Waterford at 7.10am and arrive at Heuston with just one stop at Carlow, at 9.10am”, said Councillor O’Neill.

“This will benefit greatly anybody travelling for business meetings or other appointments in the capital and may well open up the opportunity for employment for those wishing to commute during these difficult times. With the advance in technology, the new trains are well equipped with Wi-Fi to allow people to continue to work while travelling.

“This is a huge step forward for the city but we should not rest on our laurels and I will be actively seeking a return express service from Dublin to complete this exciting initiative”, said Councillor O’Neill.
