County Council deficit causes auditor concern

The failure of Waterford County Council to make any provision to reduce its deficit of €6.9million during 2010 was highlighted by concerned Local Government Auditor Patrick J Healy in his annual audit.

In his report Mr Healy reminded the Council of previous audits where he outlined his dissatisfaction with the Council’s register of lands and buildings which he claimed had not been properly maintained.
