The man killed in a road crash at Newrath on Monday night has been named as Christopher Maher.
Mr Maher (42) was not from the city but had been living in the area. He died when his car hit a tree close to Waterford Golf Club, at around 11pm. Gardaí say nobody else was injured.
The Rockshire Road remained closed throughout Tuesday to allow the scene of the crash to be technically examined. The road reopened later that evening.
