Fenor’s angelic vision


Fenor’s three angels have become local and national talking points throughout the past weeks and months.
No, there hasn’t been an apparition in the picturesque Copper Coast village, but the creation of a spectacular 45 ft high wooden sculpture.
John Hayes of ‘Special Branch Carvings’ is the man behind the fantastic creation in graveyard of which has come to be known as ‘The Holy Tree of Fenor’.
A joiner by trade, like many he found himself out of work as a result of the economic downturn.
John has a creative background in working on floats in the early days of Spraoi
After becoming involved with local community projects, including the Fenor Play Park of which he was chairperson, his creative talents soon became apparent to the wider community.
John worked on designing the village’s impressive play park and as a result of this work was approached and asked to make a sculpture for Kennedy Park.
