At Monday night’s Waterford City Council meeting Cllr Mary Roche raised concerns about an ongoing problem of illegal caravan parking at the airport roundabout. She said local residents were experiencing difficulties.

Deputy Mayor Davy Daniels agreed it was a serious problem and said a report on the issue was due before the next meeting of area representatives.

Director of Services Lar Power said the land in question was private but the Council was working towards a solution.

On a separate subject, Cllr Pat Hayes asked that trees near public lights be pruned so that local residents were not left in darkness at night.
