Late Mrs Mary Grey
It is with regret that we place on record the death of Mrs Mary Grey (nee O’Sullivan), 54 Griffith Place and formerly of Sion Row, Ferrybank which occurred on Saturday, January 24th. Removal took place from her residence on Tuesday, January 27th to the Holy Family Church at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, January 28th at 11am and burial took place afterwards in Ferrybank Cemetery. Donations if desired to Assisi House Day Centre, Airmount, Waterford. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Late Mrs Betty Walsh
It is with sorrow that we record the death of Mrs Betty Walsh (nee Feely), Marian Park which occurred on Saturday, January 24th. Her removal took place on Sunday, January 25th to the Holy Family Church at 8pm. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Monday, January 26th at 11am and burial took place afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Late Christina Grant
Widespread sadness was expressed by the death of Christina (Dinah) Grant, Lower Yellow Road which occurred on Friday, January 23rd. Her remains were removed from Waterford Regional Hospital on Monday, January 26th at 6.30pm to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, January 27th at 10.00am and burial took place afterwards in Slieverue Cemetery. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Late Mrs Mary May Thomas
It is with regret that we record the death of Mrs Mary, May Thomas (nee Winters), Roanmore Park which occurred on Friday, January 23rd. Her remains were removed from Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street on Sunday, January 25th at 7pm to the Holy Family Church. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, January 27th at 11.00am and burial took place afterwards in St Otteran’s Cemetery. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Off to Milan
Congratulations to Mary Whittle, Lower Yellow Road who won a trip to Milan in the Waterford Credit Union monthly draw. Mary received her prize from Ian Manto of Harvey Travel and also present was Mary Leamy from the Credit Union. No doubt Mary will enjoy the delights of Milan including the magnificent Cathedral in the square in Dumo.
Back From a Break
Just back from a week in Lanzarote are Leslie and Matt Keane. Both enjoyed their trip to the sunshine island and they bumped into a number of Waterford people there. One night while visiting a popular Fish and Chip shop one of the Waterford people remarked “that it is not the same as Della’s”. Oh yes the age bracket tells it’s own story !
