Jill McElroy is, to put it mildly, an extraordinary woman, a lady of incredible courage and a person.

She quite literally gives every hour of her day, seven days a week, 52 weeks of the year to help unfortunate people who for one reason or another need assistance.

To sit in her company for the best part of an hour proved an uplifting experience. Oozing charm and a worldly spirit that’s rare with most mortals, time with Jill proved time compelling spent.

Born in Enfield (a stone’s throw from Wembley Stadium) she outlined her incredible life to me at her home in Pickardstown, Tramore on Thursday last.
