Waterford’s Aisling Quinn was the winner of the Munster Ladies Junior Cross Country championship in Carriganore on Sunday last

The Munster Cross Country Championship fixture at the WIT Sports Campus in Carriganore on Sunday last proved successful for Waterford with two individual junior titles being won by athletes from the county.
The junior men’s race was a very competitive one involving three athletes from early on two from Clare as well as Barry Keane Waterford AC. They were locked together for the majority of the journey and with 300 metres left Keane made his move and it proved decisive as he swept to his first major victory very impressively.
His club Waterford AC took the silver team medals with himself, David McGlynn, Jamie Murphy and Conor Quinn.and Waterford were second in the inter county team section. The second win came in the ladies race but it was completely different to the men’s. Aisling Quinn Ferrybank led from the gun and as the race progressed she went further away to win by a very clear margin, she was Waterford’s sole representative in the small field of runners.
