Tramore Tourism has praised RTE’s Damien Tiernan for his news report on how Tramore is regaining its ‘retail’ feet.
Commenting on the report which was broadcast on Thursday, December 18th, Tramore Tourism Chairperson Mary Daniels said the town was “finally getting the wider acknowledgement that it deserves”.
Damien’s report focused on the strides that have been made in the town in terms of promoting the ‘shop local’ mantra which has clearly won favour with the public.
“National indicators suggest that this Christmas is set to be the strongest retail period since 2009 and Tramore is going to reap some of that benefit, which is great news,” said Mary Daniels.
“Tramore has repeatedly displayed its strengths in 2014; retailers has stepped it up a gear, our partners in the council have been fantastic and the success of the Christmas Carnival light switch on was hugely significant in terms of putting Tramore back on the map as a Christmas experience destination.
