Waterford man awarded cancer research grant

Irish Cancer Society Prostate Cancer Researcher, Professor William Watson from Waterford and based in University College Dublin, has been awarded a major research grant for his on going work.
Professor Watson was awarded his grant for leading a major programme of prostate cancer research. The programme aims to develop a defined panel of biomarkers which can be used to identify those patients who do not need to undergo radical treatment of their disease, ultimately leading to an increased quality of life for the patient.
