Festival contributes to a “Phenomenal Christmas” in Waterford

The organisers of the Winterval Christmas Festival have won deserved praise for establishing Waterford as a national festive tourist and retail destination, and have been described as ‘visionaries’.
And management at both City Square and George’s Court Shopping Centres have hailed the Festival as a massive contributing factor to increased footfall and increased levels of business.
Winterval, which drew to a close on Tuesday last, saw ticketing increase by 60 per cent when compared to 2013, with Winterval Chief Executive Sinead O’Neill Hartery describing the Christmas season in Waterford as “phenomenal”.
“We’ve had visitors to Winterval from far and wide, through the ticket office calls came in for bookings from Sligo, to Galway, to Cork, Kerry and Dublin – really it’s all over Ireland,” she said.
