The death occurred last week of Billy O’Neill, William Street, Portlaw.
His remains were removed to St Patricks Church Portlaw and following requiem mass were interred in the adjoining cemetery.
Billy lived in Georges Street before going to England where he spent many years before returning to Ireland in the last number of years with his wife Margaret and resided in William Street where they quickly involved themselves in the local community. Billy was a quiet and gentle man who loved the chat and was keenly interested in all matters with a welcoming smile for all.
