Late Lillian Dooly

Widespread and profound sorrow was occasioned by the demise which occurred peacefully at Ard na Farraige Nursing Home of Mrs. Lillian Dooly (nee Iddon), Strand Street, Tramore .

She  was pre-deceased by her husband Ben. The deceased was a deservedly popular member of an old established family who were amongst the post World War II trailblazers who helped to establish Tramore as a leading family seaside resort by providing the best indoor and outdoor amusements available. Lillian then helped her husband Ben and family build up their own amusement arcade, shop and renowned fast food outlet on Strand Road. Always welcome in whatever company she found herself Lillian established lasting friendships by virtue of her courteous, unassuming, helpful nature and warm sense of humour which endeared her to young and old alike. Lillian was an excellent, caring neighbour whose cheerful presence will be sadly missed and her memory long cherished by all who were indeed privileged to make her acquaintance.

The esteem and high regard in which Lillian and her family are held was truly indicated by the very large concourse of sympathisers, in which all walks of life were represented, attending the removal from her son Robert’s residence, Cliff Road, Tramore to Christ Church, Church Road, Tramore for service and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Sincere sympathy in their sad loss is extended to her bereaved daughter Lillian, sons Wilf and Robert, her sister Maureen, daughters-in-law Anne and Teresa, seventeen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
