Late Lizzie Mullen

On Monday week last the death took place at Killure Bridge Nursing Home of yet another of our most popular senior citizens in the person of  Lizzie Mullen (nee Robinson), Rose  Cottage, Crooke Road, Passage East .

Deceased was aged 90 and had been unwell for some time. She was pre-deceased by her husband Jack just over four months ago and was the last surviving member of the Robinson family. The late Lizzie,  with her husband after his retirement, came home from Birmingham several years ago to live in the place of her birth, where they lived for most of their lives. They had met in Reading and married in 1944. Their retirement in Passage was a very happy time for both.

Her remains were removed from her  residence on Friday  morning to Crooke Church for Requiem Mass and her  burial was in Crooke Cemetery. A large number of sympathisers were present including many members of her family and relatives from England. She is survived by her sons, Eddie, John (who resides in Passage) and Philip, daughters Shirley, Geraldine, Marian and Collette, daughter-in-law in Passage, Stella Mullen, 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and many relatives in the Passage and Crooke areas. Sympathy is extended to all the family from the neighbours and many friends.
