Late Paddy Lucas

A lot of sadness was expressed last week when the death of Paddy Lucas was made known.

Paddy was a much loved member of the St Paul’s Soccer Club and he also was a valued member of the Schoolboy League as he refereed lots of games. There was deep regret expressed in local soccer circles all last week that Paddy had left us at such an early age. Paddy was laid to rest on Saturday, August 28th in St Otteran’s Cemetery. There were a large number of mourners present at his burial and indeed at his removal the previous evening. A resident of Central Avenue, Lisduggan, Paddy was a great character and his loss will be felt by all from that area and of course from the local soccer scene.
