Colaiste Cois Siuire Awards

The awards categories of included:  Academic,  Achievement & Endeavour,  Full Attendance,  Sports,  Personal Development and Merit. Other Awards of Recognition were presented to Fifth Year LCVP Students for their commitment to the “Adopt a Gran/Granddad” Project in conjunction with the Residential Care Home in Mooncoin – Ms Nicola Fewer, Clinical Nursing Manager presented the Awards. The Project forms part of a research document being undertaken by Trinity College, Dublin.

NUI Maynooth Third Year Special Awards were presented to four Third Year Students who excelled in the field of Mathematics, Science, Gaeilge and a Foreign Language.

Following these presentations the overall Student of the Year Awards were presented to each year group. Certificates and Trophies were presented by Mr Paul Duggan and Ms Mary Gordon. The Ceremony concluded with Mr Duggan once again thanking and congratulating everyone on their achievements!!!

Coláiste Cois Siúire, Mooncoin – Sports Day 2010

Students and Staff donned their sporting attire on Monday, 24 May for our annual sports day.

The BBQ was smoking with burgers and sausages being dished out by parents – Margaret Power and Paul Brophy, Paul Duggan (our Principal) and Cora Long (Local Councillor and Chairman of BOM).

A varied number of sporting and fun activities took place culminating in a very exciting teacher’s race which was won by Ms S Fogarty!!!

A great day was had by all!!! Some of the results were as follows:

U18 Boys: 1 Seán Whitty, 2 Luke West, 3 Diarmuid Hunt; U16 Boys 1 Dean Brophy 2 Conor Brophy, 3 Craig Power; U14 Boys 1 Seán Walsh 2 Martin O’Keeffe, Ian Delahunty.

Girls’ High Jump:  First Sinead O’Keeffe; Second Roisín Phelan

The Relay Team that took Gold: Conor Brophy, Tony McGrath, Seán Walsh and Mark Cuddihy.

Sprints – Girls

U15 – 100 m 1 Anne Marie Egan; 2 Chantelle Jordan; 3 Zoe Quigley.

U15 – 200 m 1 Chantelle Jordan; 2 Anne Marie Egan; 3Chelsie Power

U18 – 100 m 1 Katie Delahunty; 2 Kristina Fitzgerald; 3 Siobhán Twomey. U18 – 200 m 1 Katie Delahunty; 2 Sinead O’Keeffe; 3Siobhan Power.
