Science Table Quiz
Congratulations to our 3rd Year Science Team who finished joint first out of 15 teams from schools all over Waterford. Unfortunately, they lost the play off to Kilmacthomas. Well done to team members, Thomas Prasad, Florant Sherifi and Cathal Wadding. Our second team of Jakub Tyminksi, Patrick Mulvaney. And Gavin Maher also performed well.
Senior Science Quiz
Congratulations to Senior Science Students, Aaron Morrissey, Ryan Laffan, and David Walsh who took part in the “All Ireland Senior Science Quiz as part of the activities for science week. Although they did not finish in the prizes, they performed very well and had a very enjoyable night. They were accompanied by Mr. Dunbar.
Senior Rugby
Congratulations to our Senior Rugby Team on winning the O’Brien Cup for the 2nd successive year. Waterpark overcame Villers School 3-0, with Tom Kiersey kicking the match winning penalty.
BT Young Scientists
Congratulations to 5th Year students, Niall Keller, Damian Nam and Lee McCabe, whose project on “How the condition of terms, affects how it plays” has qualified to compete in this year B.T. Young Scientist Exhibition. The students are now working hard to fully complete their project for display in the R.D.S. from the 13th to 16th January 2010.

H.S.E Adolescent Health and Information Project
Transition year students continue their adolescent health and information module at the “Squashy Couch”. This project is run by the HSE, and delivers Health Education to Adolescents.
Transition Year Retreat
Transition Year students participated in a one day retreat at The Edmund Rice International Heritage Centre, Barrack Street, Waterford. Students spiritual formation is encouraged and progressed through role-play, group work, mediation etc.
Students Enterprise Market
On Saturday 12th December, three of the T.Y. Enterprise groups sold their product at the Christmas Market at Barron strand Street, Waterford. Students involved were Tom Kiersey, Mark Clinton, David McGrath, Adam Power, Luke Dowling, David Moloney, Gavin Power and Darragh O’ Mahoney. Well done to the students on their efforts.
Art
The Art Department organized a trip to Dublin for students of Art in 5th & 6th Year. They attended an Exhibition by the Norwegian, Expressionist Artist, Edward Munch at the National Gallery of Art and later visited the National Museum. They were accompanied by their Art Teacher, Bríd Ní Chionnfhaolaidh, Ms. O’Sullivan and Ms. Canty. The students had a very informative guided tour of both exhibitions and enjoyed the day.
WIT Open Day
On Thursday December 10th, sixth years students attended the WIT Open Day which proved to be very informative through lecturers and stands.
On Wednesday December 2nd Transition Year went to Cork, where they visited the Naval Base in Cork. The tour was excellent and included the use of stimulated machine guns, a visit to the flagship Eithne. Lunch was also available and on the way back a shopping visit to Mahon Point was a must.
