Isabel Morgan gold medallist in U/18 walk

St Senan’s athletes were in action at the All Ireland Indoors in Athlone last weekend and there were some great performances.
Isabel Morgan was in superb form in the U18 walk and having set the pace all the way led from gun to tape to take gold. A great achievement from an athlete who has medalled each year in this event.
In the U13 shot putt Tadgh Connelly was unlucky to miss out on a medal having been in bronze position up to the last round.
However some consolation for Tadgh who set a new PB. In the same event Daniel Griffin also had a good series placing ninth overall. This was a fine achievement for both athletes in their first indoor all Ireland.
In the girl’s U13 high jump Saoirse Allen was sixth and although a little below the height she set at the Leinsters it was still a fine performance.
She went on place fifth in the U13 600m showing a great return to form. Keelin Roche in his first All Ireland indoors finished 10th in the U12 high jump.
A relative newcomer to the event he showed lots of potential and will no doubt improve over the summer. Thomas Sheridan was unlucky to miss out on a medal finishing fourth in the U17 high jump with a new PB. A great result all round for the club and congratulations too to Cait Caulfield who’s race walkers turned in a strong performance.
