Mercy bow out of All-Ireland qualifiers
Mercy Waterford travelled to Dublin last weekend to take part in the u19 All-Ireland play-offs for a chance to take a part in the quarter-finals. Mercy would have to finish in the top two to qualify.
Up first were the winners of the Dublin region Colaiste Iosagain. This would prove to be a very tough task for the Deise girls as the Dublin side would be one the favourites for this competition.
Mercy started the game well with Helena Rohan and Rachael Taheny accounting for the first 10 points. But this did not last as some poor defending in the post allowed Iosagain many easy scores. The girls stuck to their task and by the end of the 1st Mercy were leading 17-15.
