Two more young Wildcats for Ireland

Siobhan Power and Helena Rohan, both selected for the Irish U18 Basketball team who travel to the USA this summer.
This past week two of Bausch and Lomb Wildcats’ top talents were notified that they have been selected to represent Ireland at Under-18 level, namely: Siobhan Power, daughter of Joan and Ger Power Dangan, Kilmacow, Kilkenny and Helena Rohan, daughter of Elaine and Gene Rohan, Blenheim Heights, Waterford.
Both are part of the Irish team that will participate in a tournament in Harford Connecticut, USA and will also play games in Boston and New York. Their recent form playing Superleague for Wildcats caught the eye of the Irish coaches hence their selection.
The two Mercy Secondary school students take the total of Wildcats players to represent Ireland to 40 and it is no surprise that 30 of those players have come from the Mercy school where Wildcats home base is.
The domestic basketball season may be coming to a close but these girls have a lot of work to do with many training sessions and individual workouts before they head off.
The Mercy students jet off state side on the 1st of July until the 13th.
